Women as Meat
April 12, 2008
Liken a woman to a living pig and it’s sexist and evil. But liken a woman to a dead pig and it’s funny and artistic.
Fucking hypocrites.
When it comes to women as meat analogies PETA is pretty tame. Check out these anti-animal woman as meat images below. But first,
My point in showing this to you is:
The message you receive is the one that fits your worldview. If you think it’s art, then you’ll declare that it’s art. If you think it’s pornography, you’ll say it’s porn. if you think it’s political expression, you’ll say it’s political expression, if you think it’s advertising, you’re comment that it’s an ad…
When you view women’s bodies or representations of them, you view them through your lens. The messenger (the woman or the artist or the campaign coordinator) probably has a different message than the one you receive. If you don’t ask and listen to the women, you’ll walk away with a serious misunderstanding.

Got something to say?

God. That is really fucked up, all of it. This is why I read you; you make me think. I don’t even really have a coherent comment here, I’ve still gotta digest it all (No pun intended.)
The “meat as hair” one is the one that, so far, squicks me out the most. It looks more like someone’s bashed her brains out than anything.
And I don’t know if I made it fully clear (Probably not, I have a bad tendency to be TOO brief), but I wasn’t saying I *liked* the hamburger dress. What’s hilarious about it is the WTF factor. How frigging messed up and WRONG it is.
Midgetqueen’s last blog post..OhdearGod. Baby, this is what we must aspire to.
By the way, there’s a whole series of meat as hair. It’s all really odd.
