Stephen Colbert is the Freemiest (TCR Trip Report)

We went to The Colbert Report taping this evening. Here are the details:

A month or so ago I emailed Comedy Central for tickets. A week or two after that they replied with the specifics. I had to email back to confirm and then all was set. (The Daily Show was booked up for months and months so we only got to go because a friend had extra tickets.)

Today we went down to the studio around 4pm to stand in line. It was freezing cold but we managed. The line forms inside a tented ally. (The Daily Show line forms along the sidewalk in front of the studio.)

Around 6pm they started checking names off their list. We had to show our IDs to prove we were really on the list. Then we went through a metal detector and into a holding room. (Same for The Daily Show.)

It’s The Colbert Report day today

My nephew should be coming out to visit us next week. I’m excited because our neighborhood is very kid friendly. There will be tons of things to do with him like the Planetarium, pottery painting, Children’s Museum, Robot World… We’re going to have fun.

We arranged our flights for Mardi Gras in New Orleans. We haven’t arranged hotel yet though :/ That might be an issue. I will take lots of photos, promise.

A few days ago someone commented on the Otis avatar I use on one of the message forums I frequent. They liked it and wanted to know where I “got it.” Since it’s just one of many goofy photos I have of my cats I figured other people might like to use these photos for their avatars, too. So I’ve created a few ready-made photos perfect for use on message boards or any other web community. They’re all sized 100 pixels by 100 pixels.

To use one of these photos just right click and choose “save image as.” Save the photo to your desktop (or where ever you like). Then upload the photo to you message board or community. Please do not copy the photo URL and use it to display your avatar from my site. Thanks.

Emo Dog

Having another emo “I hate New York” day today. It’s cold outside. Ed’s whining about taxes inside. But at least our dog is still as cute as can be.

This week I will move my blog to new hosting. I will change the look as well. After that I will try to curb my desire for constant change. Sorry I keep moving hosting and directories on you. Sorry I keep rearranging the furniture.

I will focus that energy on other web projects and experiments. And as usual, I will keep you updated :)
