Happy Sunday

8 miles today! The marathon training is moving along and I’m really starting to feel it. Today I decided I need to start watching my diet again (perhaps monitoring with DietPower) and I need to do a little more work during the weeks. I’ve been slacking a little this last week since I don’t have any school or work - it’s so nice to have true vacation where I feel like I don’t have something huge looming over me. Well, nothing huge, except the wedding, the marathon, and law school. Oh and yeah I have to move next week and sell my condo. But other than that…

Went to my first baseball game last night. It was longer than I expected but still fun. However, our team lost so I was a little disappointed. Ed said they should have played more games between innings. I guess maybe… Also, next time we will bring water or something, the concessions are outrageous and the lines are long. But we got a free Mayor Oscar Goodman bobble-head. That’s cool.

Ed and Elaine: Ed’s Engagement Ring

August 16, 2005 | Leave a Comment

Last Wednesday was Ed’s birthday. So, along with a pair of tickets to Thrice I took him out to dinner to the Melting Pot.

We had a wonderful fondue dinner of bread, veggies and apples dipped in cheese fondue, potatoes, asparagus, tofu and other veggies cooked in oil fondue, and strawberries, pound cake, and bananas dipped in chocolate fondue. We paired it with a nice red wine and at dessert we had coffee.

Ed's ringDuring dinner I gave Ed his engagement ring and asked him to marry me. Even though we’re already engaged, I really wanted to do this. He loves his ring and shows it to everyone! It’s so cool!

Ed and Elaine: Wedding Hair

August 3, 2005 | Leave a Comment

Hair Trial round 1: I made the flower clip with fabric flowers: lilies and orchids. I just used wire.

I want to add some sparkles to them and maybe a blue morpho butterfly too (since they are in Costa Rica — and we’re getting married in a butterfly garden). Thanks da1uluv for the butterfly idea! I think I will wear it curly instead of straight (shown straight here). FH likes it best curly and it’s so humid in Costa Rica that I think I will have a hard time keeping my naturally curly hair straight there.

Also, I think I want a tiara (I don’t have one yet, so I pretended with a necklace). But I’m not sure about a veil. I tried some on with gowns and they look good, but I’m not sure it really “goes.” I think I will go sans veil.
