So, last night I had a dream that I had to go get someone important and tell them something urgent. For the life of me I cannot remember who I was supposed to tell or what it was I was supposed to say. Anyway, I realized that I had this dream when I was in my living room standing up looking for this person. It wasn’t exactly sleep walking - I was awake when I got out of bed and went out into the living room. I just didn’t realize that I was acting on a dream and not on reality. Weird.
Then I had a minor migraine this morning. My left side of my head was surely going to explode and since I live alone, no one was going to find me and my cats were going to eat half my face by the time the police would come break in my door. But after some food, caffeine, and a shower, the headache subsided.

Well, I started Law School this week. I wasn’t prepared to start so soon and had kinda given up on going this year because I pushed the deadline so far. So, I didn’t make any necessary arrangements and am now struggling to ask to leave work a little early here and there and stretching the dime to buy a laptop so I can fit in and be productive… Needless to say this scenario and my type A personality mean I put a lot of pressure on myself right now to keep up my standard 40+ hour work week and hit the books for 9 credits in the evenings. Well, I think I’m having some physical manifestations of this pressure because all of a sudden I got sick. I am sick as a dog and I go home and cry each night this week. My whole body aches, my nose is stuffed up, my head is pounding, my throat is super sore and my eyes burn. I’m doing everything right: plenty of fluids, Zycam, zinc, vitamin C, orange juice and Tylenol Cold for the pain and fever. But I’m not getting the most important thing, rest. I can’t wait until this weekend. Hopeful I can sleep all weekend and be back to normal next week.

OK, so the last non-english song I mentioned in this journal wasn’t French. It was Romanian. But this new song really is French: Femme Like U by K-maro check it out! Here is the translation of the refrain… Donne-moi ton coeur baby, (Give me your heart, baby) Ton corps baby hey (Your body, baby, hey) Donne-moi ton bon vieux funk, (Give me your good old funk) Ton rock baby, (your rock, baby) Ta soul baby hey (your soul, baby hey) Chante avec moi, je veux une femme like you (Sing with me, I want a girl like you) Pour m’emmener au bout du monde, une femme like you (Take me along to the end of the world, a girl like you)…

The Very Personal Statement
of
Elaine Vigneault
“Never trust biographies. Too many events in a man?s life are invisible…The search for facts, for places, names, influential events, important conversations and correspondences, political circumstances - all this amounts to nothing if you can’t find the assumption your subject lives by,” writes Anne Michaels in Fugitive Pieces. Accordingly, I shall begin with my assumption, my credo, my philosophy: Read more
