Been working on the lobby site quite a bit lately. You can check it out for yourself at http://www.nevadawomenslobby.org/test. I’m happy to take over the website and I think it will be a much needed improvement. Comments? Tell me

.

Not everything works yet, but it will. There will be a calendar, a blog type thing for updates/ alerts, and an email mailing list.

CSI

Awoke this morning to find a murder scene in the living room. The victim was a piece of blue construction paper; the assailant apparently of the feline persuasion. Bits and pieces of remains were scattered across the floor and onto the couches. Whoever did this had a lot of time and energy on her hands… er… paws.

cell phone

I cannot wait until the day that mobile phones are considered a utility instead of a luxury.

A year or so ago I signed up for roll over minutes. I knew it was just a scam to get me to steadily increase my minute usage, but I thought I was organized enough to keep track. Nope. I got so used to having so many rollover minutes that I started increasing my usage to the point where I got a $287 phone bill.

argh. I don’t want to get a regular phone because I’ll never use it. It’s just another added expense. And I certainly can’t afford it right now.

Besides, I want to have only ONE phone number. I don’t want the email thing to happen to the phones - where people get confused because I have so many email addresses. Consistency is a big deal - I want just one, stable phone number and one, stable email.

Eventually I will get a real phone line, but mostly just for faxes. Right now, the mobile phone is most important.

Canadians and ebay

So, I decided to get rid of my exercise videos since I haven’t used them in quite a bit. I’ve been going to the gym instead. I figure if I want to go back to exercising at home then I will get DVDs. Those are much cooler anyway because you can skip to your spot or move around to create your own workout. And they last longer, too.

Anyway, I put the videos on ebay and amazingly they sold pretty well. I sold 14 out of 16. But those damn Canadians!

I got a bunch of emails from Canadians asking about shipping prices. I did my best to estimate the costs but I didn’t realize that I couldn’t add delivery confirmation or send things media mail. So, it would have cost me three times what I charged them to send things in the proper fashion or else just pay the lower rate and pray all goes well. I think next time I will eliminate international shipping.

It’s too much of a hassle.

So, now I’ve learned from trial and error to only ship within the US and only accept paypal payments. Everything else is too risky.

When the only things you feel safe to write in public involve skinned elbows.

Was sitting at my computer desk today surfing, thinking, writing…
Bam!
Fell backwards onto the floor. Skinned up my elbow a little. Broke the arm off my computer chair. Freaked out the cat. Disrupted my pile of books and videos on the floor waiting to be sold on Amazon and ebay.

oh yeah. That’s as interesting as I get.
